HI George,

The black and white one is a bard rock named Juliette.  She is really old - like six, and still lays eggs.  The black ones are copper-black marans.  They lay really dark brown eggs.  The light brown ones come from  EE and BA hen's crossed with a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana rooster. They lay bluish-green eggs.   Their father rooster came from http://www.signaturefeathers.com/wheaten/wheaten.html.  With the exception of two, the hens all hatched out last spring and we raised them from chicks.  And roo is short for rooster.  I'm trying to get rid of him because he just started to crow.  He's pretty nice by rooster standards.

Is that a Barred Rock or Dominiker?  We have Barred Rocks and they do a good job of consuming lots of garden greens and producing eggs.  You did a great job on the coop and run.  What is a Roo?

Here are some of my chickens (and a roo) eating last night's left over tilapia.  Yum Yum.  They lay eggs with orange yolks when I feed them fish.  The light brown girls lay green-shelled eggs.
