My parents taught me the importance of healthy eating at a young age. We had dirt gardens and grew lots of our own food. Those values stuck with me my whole life. As a kid I was jealous of the other kids and their junk food though. Keep up the good work with your kids Kobus. It is worth every bit of effort you put in.

I have read somewhere that some fast foods are so terrible that the only way to get people to eat it is through loading it with MSG (a substance that makes you crave more).  My wife is particularly harsh on allowing anything with MSG in it into the house.  If the kids were at a party, they have to hand over the loot bags for "sanitation" .  My daughter is 7 and my son 4.  We are trying our very best to establish good eating habits but it is not always easy.

Yes Kobus I am a proud MacHater!! We seem to be in the minority though. Most people are hopelessly addicted.

Another MacHater??   I'm going to get into trouble some day soon because I bash those types of food so hard in my house that my kids have started interrogating their buddies at school and telling them that they may not eat the stuff 'cos it is BAD!

Thanks Harold. She eats veges and fruit out of the system every day. I am proud to say that she has never ate McDonalds.
