Cheers Wild Dog. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll try to answer in a timely fashion. Best to either e-mail me or ask on my page as I don't come on this site as regularly as I us to. Pioneering is a lonely road and I'm always glad for company and spiritual support.

I'll try to post some pics of aquascapes soon. Those pics I'll post aren't mine coz mine were lost due to a computer virus but will give folks here that aren't into CAFO style food production AP some ideas. In the mean time you can Google aquascape for some pics...very kewl stuff.

incredible, very interesting, educational as well. I can learn from Your experiences. From the other side of the planet no less ! gotta love it! I have a thousand ideas and after seeing your posts , I have 10,000 ideas, but only 1 life to build with.....1 step at a time as they say.. I truely enjoy hearing the serene sound of the water tricking , plants growing, and tinkering with my system, in my living room now.

The "fog" is made by an ultrasonic fogger also referred to as nebulizer or atomizer, originally for humidifiers. I first encountered these some decade plus ago when I was experimenting on fogging systems to deliver nutrients to roots as in true aeroponics. All the dry fog systems had a problem of salting up when used in conjunction with hydroponic (chemical) nutrients, but showed not so much of a problem when in conjuncture with organic aquaponics derived nutrients. Later, I used these foggers during my aquacaped aquarium phase to "dry grow" aquarium plant life/ scenes. When I started my (now defunct) Chinese styled aquaponics store, I had a few left so though it would add some mystique to my scenes. They are also good for rainforest terrariums and to deliver water/ nutrients for foliar applications or simulate mountain mist. Speaking of foliar applications I used these foggers above and below the surface and found that foliar applications worked especially well at dawn... especially in conjunction with recordings of cricket that change to birdsong. Also not bad for aromatherapy. Just add a few drops of essential oil to the water supply.
