Jon my ph is at 8.0. I am working it down with acid but it is a pain. The fish dont mind the high ph but the plants lose the ability to absorb nutrients when the the ph is above 7.2. Your fish will be ok but plants like corn and strawberries hate it. The corn looks like Iron defecent but really it is high ph which stops the plants from absorbing iron and nitrogen. My water has so much iron you can stand a spoon in it hehe.

How high is the ph?  I have a fish at a ph of 8.0. They are from Lake Malawi Africa. I had planned on turning the tank into an AP system. Does that ph sound too high?
