Black soldier fly larvae cage
Mother nature is incredible.... hope I can turn these efforts into reality. Fish food from BSFL would close the loop and establish aquaponics as a completely self sustaining ecosystem (electricity would be the other thing though)

The round holes are meant for cloth sleeves that can be closed with a surrounding string, that will allow me to insert both hands into the barrel and do whatever maintenance task inside. 1 of the specific goals is to keep the flies within.
The square holes will have a dense sieve so that smaller flies like Drosophila can't get in, but air will, aerating the space inside which is going to get anaerobic.

How is this going to work? I've never seen holes in a BSF composter so large.
