I thought I replied to this last night but apparently it did not go thru. I got the RO system in the hope that it will help with my ph problem. My water out of the well ranges from 9.0-9.5 and sometimes higher. After adding nutes I can get it doen to 7.0-7.2 but thats it. PH Down has no effect really because after a few hours it will bounce back up due to all the calcium in the water.

This RO is a 5 stage system. It has a 5 micron sediment filter, 2 5 micron coconut carbon filters, the RO, and a DI filter. It is supposed to take the water down to 0 ppm. I will consider myself lucky if I get 6 months use out of the RO membrane. Right now all my systems are on the small side...all together they require about 275 gallons in the reserviors.

I imagine these go from coarse to fine.  What are the filter specs and how large a system are you filtering.   I've often thought about this type of system, but figured it would clog up too quickly.
