Last season's harvest was really not all that great.  Around 10 - 20% of blooms.  I tried hand pollenating but the success rate was very low.  Not sure if the is the type (marketed in South Africa as Black Beauty) of eggplant or the conditions of my system.  Around them, the tomatoes, cucumber and passion fruit were giving good yields but the butternuts were also not happy.  Will plant some more this season  and see how it goes.

I get several nice blooms on my plants, but so far, none have made it. Saw found directions to hand pollinate using a little paintbrush, but it's not working well either. Do you have a trick? How many did you end up harvesting? So far, I have to wonder if they're worth the space...

The system is open to pollenators but I had a low success rate without any intervention.  Will try hand pollenating if

i grow them again.

Nice!  Do you hand pollinate your eggplants?
