The 2 = ponds are 75ft L x 15ft W x 8ft D they were dug by a ditch-witch  and lined with 6mil black plastic film. We have calculated each pond will hold 25,000 gal of water , give or take a few gallons. this is strictly rain water run off, and ground water from sump pump run off. We had to empty the ponds 2 times last year. We do collect a lot of water, this year we will use it for irrigation in the garden area, and greenhouse we will be putting in.

How deep is that? Do you worry about it getting too hot in the summer? Do you plan to cover the water to control temp and evaporation?
