Sahib, thank you for that link. My sister has been looking for a dwarf papaya but we were never able to find one locally. The X77 was the closest thing we could find.
@michelle, I had planned to move that papaya into a barrel that would be in my AP system somewhere, but it grew too quickly and now i have to wait until its fruited to move it. i have a banana tree that i am planning on doing the same.
oooh, nice! some friends recently gave me 6 papaya trees. Although, they are not dwarf. I was planning to put them in the ground. I would love to incorporate fruit trees into the system. After I watched this beautiful video from a Taiwanese AP system (I may have posted it on this site at one time) I tried to put a banana tree in the raft tank and it was a big fiasco, the pot tipped and made a mess with coco coir etc. so I took it out and didn't tree it again, lol.
I guess if I was to do it again I would use the hydroton or expanded shale I have and maybe a clay pot. (?) How did you do it?
I went to hear this incredibly knowledable talk on herbs yesterday at a community garden nearby, and I had bought two fig trees and few other things,so that was on my mind.

Thank you for sharing :-)
I was looking for a dwarf papaya seeds and did not really want to buy a plant for crazy $'s (http://logees.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R1776-4). With your description of the type of papaya tree, I will be able to get a number of different varieties and grow them from seed. Thanks :-)
