I could never get the larger PVC version to work long either. For a better working water bridge use half inch irrigation tubing, and use as many as it takes to get your flow right.  I had 6 between my tanks on my first system and it worked for over a year. The beauty of using many smaller tubes is the risk is so much lower, all the tubes would never fail at once, you just notice a slowdown in the tanks equalizing when one stops working.

this is also called a water brige i think it was not reliable and i only used it for a few weeks then scraped it. it is just a siphon

how does the water flow up the pipe into the filter bucket without a pump? can u show me how to build this?
