My experience with hydrophonic, so I have a good idea of how to run the system.  We can apply the same method to aquaponic system.    What difficulty are you having?  Our system is still being set up.  I will have a pond measuring 6'x10' by 2.5' deep ( approx. 1000 gal) with an ebb and flow of about 4x8.  I'm glad to have someone in the neighborhood who is interested in aquaponics, we can share info that is conducive to our neighborhood.

Roe, what I would do is to isolate what might  be cousing the fish to die.  I would start by separating the ebb and flow from the fish.  I'm sure your oxygen level is ok unless you have too many fish.  If you have a filter I would continue to run it and by pass the plant bed.

I'm leaving for the Philippines in about 2 weeks and will not finish my aquaponic system.  When I get back in about 1 or 2 you are certainly welcome observe my system and hopefully you will get some idea you can apply to your system.

Let me know how your fish are doing and how you manage the death rate.

    Thanks

    Hi Roe,

I live in Los Angeles as well and am looking to set up my first backyard system, currently planning it out.  I saw you mentioned you had a place to get stock tanks.  Would love to hear about it.

How is your system coming along?

    Thanks.
