I live in Southern California half the time and the other half is in the Philippines. l would like to learn more about aquaponics so that I can apply some of the knowlege as part of the livelyhood in my village. The people there at Coron Island are mainly fisherman, but the sea is all fished out. I want to introduce an alternative method of the way to manage resoure farm land and the sea. I own 2 islands, a beach property 10 acre and 12 acre farm, the crops on the are bananas and pineapple.

    Welcome Antonio,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.

Please add a profile image, participate and check in with us every day!  We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

    Sylvia

Hey Antonio, I found you on the member map. not a lot of members in our area. what kind of system have you set up? I've just assembled one with a 150 gallon fish tank with 3 grow beds using ebb and flow, but it doesn't really seem to be working all that well yet.

Hey Antonio, thanks for responding! seems my fish aren't that happy (every few days one dies) though my plants are doing great. when are you finished with your pond and what do you plan to put in it? tilapia as well? Keep me posted when you're closer to being done, I'd love to see how you set up your system. I only have a 150 gallon tank in a greenhouse in my back yard with one grow bed doing well and two more just starting.
