My wife and I, and kids, moved from New York to NorCal in September 2009. We bought a house on 10 acres in the foothills near Placerville. Since then we have planted 30 fruit trees in an orchard, built raised beds in our garden, started beekeeping, raising chickens, and have 7 pigs. Quite a change from NY. Now Ive built an AP system, and we're excited to see the results. Another step towards feeding ourselves with food we raised or grew. Which is harder than I thought it would be!

    Hey there Jason,  Welcome to this forum. I'm just a "bit" down 50 from you - downtown Sac.  Please check out Sacramento Aquaponics group here on this forum, including info on the local AP tour planned Sunday June 10.  Looking forward to hearing more about your set-up.

    Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members--no question is too basic.
