    Welcome George,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Home page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.

Please add a profile image, participate and check in with us every day!  We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

Sometimes the bulkhead fitting isn't tightened up all the way when you get it.  Usually you just need to give the nut a slight tighten up.  But you might want to make sure there is no grit between the tank wall and the gasket or the gasket and the flange of the bulkhead fitting on the inside of the tank.  Make sure it's all clean and then tighten it up again.

Hum, I guess it must just take one nut to know another.  Or you aren't as nutty as you think?

    good Luck with it.

No My father grew it in his garden but I did start the plant for him in my basement in January then he planted it in May.

    Hi George,

You can get a pot still for just distillation, living in florida you probably dont need the heat for a greenhouse.  Look up Rainier Distillers on the internet.  He built the distillation component for my stove.  He builds all kinds of stills and can fix you up.

Hi George, thanks, glad you like the system.  This is my first time at aquaponics, and I am really happy with the results.  We fired the system up for the first time December 12th 2011, and have harvested a lot of produce already, and have had a few fish dinners.
