Great meet up, Thanks Randy for showing off your system. You had a white tarp over your NFT setup. What kind of material was that.

We had a goldfish pond with some planter boxes beside them built earlier this year. My wife dips water out of the pond to water the tomatoes and peppers and mint. We decided it would be less work to build aquaponics set up in the garden than to build 2 more raised beds. Now we got to figure out how we are going to do it. I like the barrel set up and maybe the 4 inch pvc pipe set up but open to suggestions.

We decided to build a green house over it to shade during the hot months

That is about 15 wheelbarrows full of sand dug up from the side of the house where we want to put a root cellar. And a yard and a half of garden dirt bought from a garden store. Lots of work but it should be safe from gophers with the chicken wire in the bottom.

Here south of San Antonio the ground is sand. Its easy to dig for humans and gophers. You can stand and watch the gophers pull your plants underground, so we started building some raised beds.

That's pretty funny Alex but you are right it is Randyland. Oh lord. I come home from work and he says, "let me show you...." and I cringe as I think about what he's made in the backyard. Oh, and he has started a ton of seedlings. I on the otherhand have just gotten in my new heirloom seeds. They are seeds that I don't already have and I was very specific with what I bought. For example, cucamelons, strawberry spinach, New Zealand spinach and a handful more. I got them from Terrier Seed CO (in 3 days, wow) but can't tell you about the germination rate yet.

What did you make with that cabbage. We just steamed ours. The other type cabbage we have, I just add to soup.

What to do with all this cabbage?
