I realize many of you are probably past the introductory stage, but for those who aren't, there's an aquaponics introductory workshop scheduled to be held in Portland, ME on Nov 22 @ 6pm at the Urban…Continue

Just wondering what inspires people to grow using aquaponics. How big is your system and what are your future goals with aquaponics.

Hi Chong,
I would also like to attend an aquaponic class in the New England area. A few years ago there was one that i attended in The Bronx in NYC conducted by Friendly Aquaponics who are based in Hawaii. I believe that there is a big future for aquaponics but it is starting slowly. Check out Friendly Aquaponics if you don't already know about them.
is anyone knows if there is an aquaponic class in New England area?
Hi Everyone,
I have a basement that I would like to setup an aquaponic system, I am new to this and hopefully I can learn from you! thanks in advance!
My basement is unfinished and has a dehumidifier that runs on a routine basis. I have not had any issues regarding humidity even when my aquaponics system overflowed on the floor. I had to get most of the water off the floor, and the next day, it was bone dry.
I had a 900 gal fish tank in my basement and deep water grow tanks in my basement without a problem. I believe it depends how well insulated you basement is. If you air or your outside walls are cold you will have a problem with condensation. That humid air will turn to water on the walls.
Do any of you with basements in your home have problems with humidity??
Hi Everyone,
I'm in the Boston area and would like to share ideas.I have an 8' x12' greenhouse and have been experimenting with aquaponics for a couple of years. Am thinking of attending the next Aquaponic Fest in July.
Eastford, CT.
Hey Max. Just saw your video. Looks great. I'm in Wolcott. I just started my set up this January. My basement looks like yours.. I'm doing an IBC tote for the fish and Cement trays for the beds. I might do the buckets like you have for some peppers in the future. I want to make sure I'm successful with what I have now before I expand though. I will do a video soon.
I live in Fairfield CT
