Hi Everyone,

Just saw your group and wanted to introduce myself.  I am working with other colleagues and students at Temple University Ambler campus on an Aquaponics system.  We have a Flood and Drain 150 gallon tank w/ tilapia supporting six grow beds. We are in an indoor space approx 1,000 sq ft. with grow lights.  We have plenty of land on campus to construct a hoop house which is the next goal. We just started transplanting the plants. 

Wayne, I am pretty close to you as I live in Skippack.  Keep us posted on your plans. I would be happy to share any experiences and learn at the same time. I will post pics soon

Hey guys, 

Just joined the Mid-Atlantic group today. My name is Matt. I'm from Lynchburg Virginia and have been in the process of setting up a large Aquaponic system with three 30x90 hoop greenhouses using a combination of Deep Water and Media Beds. Would enjoy meeting a few folks near by and talking about the good and bad aspects of AP in our climate/area. Also the idea of creating a network of people close by would be a real blessing. Well, to start with you are well located geographically that should make it a bit easier to keep costs within reason. If you've researched what fish need as far as environment is concerned you will be a step up on getting underway. If not, I have put together an excel spread sheet that could be of some assistance to you. If you would like to have it send me your e-mail address and I'll forward it on to you.

Hi folks,

I'm out in Collegeville and have just completed plans for constructing an NFT hydroponic system in my hoop greenhouse.  That will be followed up by Dutch Bucket Flood & Drain. Hoping to hear back form ya'll.

Had a great time at the Florida Conference and met several neat folks from PA, DE, WV, TN and VA.  Even met one young aquapon, from DC.  Saw the groups online and figured a Mid-Atlantic group would be great to open since many of us share some common connections related to the coastal climate, the Blue Ridge, I-95, I-81 and the DELMARVA.  At my age I don't remember all the names, but wanted to send a shout out to Blue, Emily, Robin, Steve, Thomas, Matt, Travis and his wife.  It was a pleasure meeting ya'll in FL.
