Hi fellow members of the Sacramento aquaponics community,
Happy to announce that we are going to have our 3rd annual aquaponics exhibit at the California State Fair this summer, in conjunction with the California Aquaculture Association. It's a lot of fun, it's educational, and it's a great opportunity to connect with and hang out with other local aquaponics folks.
Justin Saenz has stepped up to coordinate the effort this year, for which big thanks, Justin!
As in past years, we are looking for people to offer AP systems to display and/or to be a "docent" during the Fair. In order to be properly prepared in time for the Fair, we are asking to hear from you by Sunday, June 8, if you are interested in either or both functions.
We anticipate that we will hold the mandatory orientation for volunteers around the week of June 9 - 15 and will have people commit to particular shifts at that time. That will give us more lead time than past years to acquire Fair passes for everyone.
And, having commitments by that time for systems to display will allow us to make the orientation most informative and give us enough lead time to set up the systems and get signage made prior to the Fair. The Fair runs Friday, July 11 – Sunday, July 27 (17 days).
Remember, the AP exhibit is a volunteer effort, not for profit. As in past years, we welcome people with a commercial interest in aquaponics to participate, but marketing will be limited to identification of provided systems and the opportunity to have literature on hand.
So, please contact Justin ASAP. Email is best for him: firstname.lastname@example.org
Happy to help, Paul. I just sent Justin a reply too. Will it be in the same greenhouse as last year? Do you or Justin have a site plan available?
