Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I am leaning to a Weather system.  I have found a few with cheap software and sensors that allow posting on a website.  I will post the choices I have found and what my thoughts are as to how they could be used in Aquaponic systems.

They have water temp sensors that will help tell me a lot in the winter.

Weather Snoop software

handles 10 sensors.

Possible this weather station. Or a variation of it.

Another better solution but one that I haven't found is the x-10 2 way system. It can monitor if the plug-switch is on or off.  Lots of applications here for a good x-10 system.  Integrated into a iphone app and weather station.
I just ordered an Oregon Scientific weather station from the site you linked me in an e-mail.  Seems the only way it came with the software (different software than pictured above I think) and PC connection was as a bundle but then I added two of the water temperature sensors.  Will see how it does once it gets here.

I have the weather station.  First thing I hooked up were the floating sensors (don't set either of them to ch 1 since that channel is reserved for the main temp and humidity unit that comes with the main weather station, I had to go back and change one due to the conflict.)  Now it says you could have up to 10 of these but I don't see how if they only have 3 channel choices, perhaps there are other models with channels 4-10.

Anyway, got those hooked up.  Now I just need to mount the three sensors that came with the base unit and load the software to see what I can do with it.

Thanks for the tip Cosmo!

Yep that is the link I used to go and pick out a station and the extra sensors.  Thanks.
Anyone else have any comments on weather station software?  I haven't been making that much headway searching on the internet for tips about weather station software and uploading to the internet.  I probably just haven't found the right discussion forums on it yet through.

so that cool software that Cosmo posted the links and pictures of is for Mac.

So I've been looking for something to work with one of my old PC's

this is what I'm starting to mess with.
