Coastview Aquaponics - A neighborhood farm

One year ago our first aquaponic system began growing more produce than we could consume, so began selling to a few friends and neighbors. Everybody really liked our produce and soon there was a demand for more production. We expanded our first system to meet the growing demand, and then decided to build a second system. Today we have three systems operating and we sell to the community three days a week. Customers are invited to pick their produce directly out of the system. We provide free farm tours on sale days. We want to provide the community with fresh food and help keep food miles low. Produce that the neighborhood does not buy goes to a local health food store. Our business grew with the demand of our customers. Every week we get new customers by word of mouth and we hope that in the near future all of our produce will be sold directly off the farm.

We are proud to announce that Coastview Aquaponics has been sold out of  produce for the second week in a row to strictly neighborhood sales. It has taken us a year to build up our client base which has primarily happened through word of mouth. Our sales to the local health food store had to be diverted to our sister farm again. Selling out to the neighborhood is a major accomplishment as is has been a main goal for our business. We have been working on increasing production within the current space and expanding the farm.

We are very thankful to have such wonderful customers who will go out of their way to purchase our produce!!

Chris - thanks for the look at your business plan. It is a very good starting point for a lot of people that want to go commercial in aquaponics, but don't know where to start. Keep up the good work and I'm happy to hear about you and your family living your dream.
