Links and Resources

SOS Planet Public Library is a resource that Roger Pilon has brought to our attention.  He has offered to upload and add documents to this site so contact Roger Pilon to send him files for it or post them here and he can add them to the Library.

The name of the site is SOS Planet Public Library and the section dedicated to aquaponics is here at the  Aquaponics Section

On top of that, all the documents of the library have been indexed. This means that you can search for any words from within any documents.Let's say for example that you want to make a research about aquaponicsin Africa. What you will do is to type into the search box these towords aquaponics and Africa. What you will get is alist of all the documents that talks about aquaponics in Africa with, like Google, a brief description off each documents.

If you want to make a test you can go directly to the Search Engine at http://documents.ponics.org/research/my-search.php.

It has been brought to our attention that the above links are no longer functional but here is the update from Roger

This is just to update the link for the Public Library posted above (as I can't edit it). The new link is here: http://theplanetfixer.org/public-library/. There is a section dedicated to aquaponics...of course!. Around 100 documents in this particular section.

There is also a full text search database that you can consult: here at http://theplanetfixer.info/. Documents about aquaponics and more! Mostly sustainable documents!

This thread has many links to articles and other things of interest so I figured it should be accessible from here Aquaponics in Action USA

All right, Roger I'll set up some links in the text box above for your site as a repository and resource for us.

Hi Roger. I like what you are doing in your SOS Plant Public Library, but before our community partners with an outside organization I'd like to know more about it. Can you and I chat through PM? I'll send you a message. Thanks

Hi To All!

I don't know if this could in anyways be helpful to the group, but here is a suggestion. I have created a while ago a site that is a repository of documents covering different topics, one of them is..a section dedicated to aquaponics.

What I could do is to collect all the documents you will send me and I will upload them to this section.

The name of the site is SOS Planet Public Library and the section dedicated to aquaponics is here at the  Aquaponics Section

On top of that, all the documents of the library have been indexed. This means that you can search for any words from within any documents. Let's say for example that you want to make a research about aquaponics in Africa. What you will do is to type into the search box these to words aquaponics and Africa. What you will get is a list of all the documents that talks about aquaponics in Africa with, like Google, a brief description off each documents.

If you want to make a test you can go directly to the Search Engine at http://documents.ponics.org/research/my-search.php.

I hope all this will be helpful to this specific group and also for the aquaponics community as a whole.

Loved the fish/book icon you found for this, TC! Where ever did you find that?

Yep, saw it and I think we actually already gained a new member here on APG because of it.

Just in case you did not get a chance to watch the NBC News re Sweetwater Organics:

Fishing for food solutions, aquaponics offers clues

"Aquaponics, a method of growing fish and plants together, creates a closed loop system that some say could help to address food shortages in places without access to fresh produce. NBC's Anne Thompson reports."
