Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I know that we have tried to get some sort of Aquaponic system tour organized with not much success. Phoenix is a big place along with Mesa, Scottsdale and everything else. I have seen quite a few systems that people in this group have created. It always seems I learn something from others so Im asking everyone if your willing to show me your system please contact me, I dont care where you anywhere in Arizona!

Yes indeed. We do need a "Tour de Tanks!" Yes Phoenix is big, but a self guided tour where you go where you want when you want within a certain time period worked well for Tucson, so I think it can work for us. IMHO

My AP system is undergoing constant change, but you are welcome to visit.

#1) Let me clear up my backyard first (kind of a mess), #2) I'd be willing, the only problem is that I have dogs and would need to know the time anyone wants to come over because the dogs have a doggie door access to the backyard and would need to close them in.

Hi Dave We are located at 312 W. Allen St. Tombstone Az.  I don't expect you to drive this far, but if you find yourself in our area we would like to meet you and show youi what we are doing.  Del Roach Ph.D   Tombstone community garden Inc.

Here is some information I posted from the last Tucson tour. It gives some ideas how they did it:

Below is a link to a video someone made from a couple of locations on their tour.

Propose some dates.

I dont know if I want to do a full fledged tour, I just want to see some more systems. I think people would want to learn from others, thats my goal.

I derive a lot just following threads in the forum: however, I have also learned a great deal through the folks I have met one on one.

I wish our profiles included a zip code so we could readily determine who is close by.

You can see the member map to see where people live.

I'm up for a tour day.

How about Cinco de Mayo!?  May 5th is a Sunday, the weather should be beautiful and everyone should have a chance to clean up to get ready by then...

I live just off the 101 and Chaparral in Scottsdale.  I'm also within a few minutes of 2 other AP systems, so we could almost have a "Scottsdale tour".

Maybe a regional tour would be a good way to approach this type event in a "sprawling metropolis the size of Connecticut".   Just head out across the valley, make a few stops and head back, would be a nice Sunday afternoon out.

Also, I have noticed that few people are using the map function at the top of the home page.

There are lots of

new members but

not very many new

locations showing

up on the map.  We're

a community, we

should begin to behave like one...

5th of May is great for me. Hope we can do this. In South Phoenix there are at least two systems in operation, one under construction (I hope by then), one a bit too far away (25 minutes) on the Gila River Indian Community and one honest to God old fashion Fish Farm on Baseline so we have much to show as well. Between Scottsdale, Southside, and others who step forward this could be a great day.

May 5th sounds good to me!  I would love to see other peoples systems!  I also just added myself to the member map, funny thing is I never noticed it until you guys mentioned it.
