hi every one i am from oregon we currently have a medi card and a grower
also it will be recreational legal in July
were aloud by the state 6mature and 6 juv my fiance and daughter both have FSH muscular dystrophy and i am hooked on aquaphonix. and trying to take our meds back from a grower any help and advice is greatly appreciated .
my micro grow will post pictures soon . keep changing my mind on the setup currently i have the 75 gallon glass tank in the bottom of the cabinet i am not happy i cant see the fish so going to move the tank out next to the cabnet and plumb thru this will give me more space to grow and have filtration.
also i want to talk the local community college into a test with there hydro setup
it currently has 4 gutter runs 20'ea they are plumed to run city water but i could plumb a fish tank into 1 run there system has a shutoff valve at the top and drains into a larger drain into the floor.
thanks every
erin
Thanks for showing the podcast. I think they mentioned on the last show that they want you back on Steve.
I have not tried that mike.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2YTg0... Was on the dude grows show last week have a listen.
Hey Steve,
Great interview. I thought the bit about feminizing pollen was really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
On another note, I have begun experimenting with trying to get a vermicompost cycle setup within the grow beds. I have a tube going into the media that is filled with plant food scraps, hoping the worms will go in and form a mini composter. I read of others trying this, but I'm a little afraid it will just be a rotting mess. Do you have any advice/ have you ever tried this method?
I recently sat down with our friends over at the Aquaponics Podcast for an interview on growing cannabis in aquaponics check it out! http://aquaponicsfarmer.com/2014/11/10/appodcast012/
Right now I'm using home brewed fertilizer im making my own worm casting teas but have also had great luck using pure blend and nectar for the gods in my soil layer. I have switched to my own brews now tho to to get even better results.
Awesome, I'll need to pot up! ... By that I mean put it in a pot, but could not resist a pun. What nutrient blends are you putting in?
@ mike and candis, I have most of my plants currently and the ones shown here in dual root zone pots. Im still tinkering with my nutrients to see if i can dial them in even better than the great results we are getting now. I am also working with a modified version of a dual root zone that I will share once I'v taken a plant all the way to harvest with it and have had time to test it a little more. I think our new way might work a little better in a commercial setting. I am adding nutrients to the soil layer once a week and watering the soil layer twice a week. The biggest factors iv notice if your nutrients are good is iron and magnesium in an AP system can by stripped out in under a week because of how much the uptake but as long as you stay ontop of your nutrients they do phenomenal in aquaponics. One other thing that i can not stress enough is the SMOOTHNESS and richness of the flavor compared to hydro or even soil its not even close.
