K1media

we just recently heard about K1media and would like to incorporate it into our systems. Randy is thinking of a way to use the K1 in one tank to filter for 4 125-150 gallon IBC totes that hold Tilapia. We have heard that it makes your water crystal clear......Any ideas out there. We currently have Biofilters to each tank. Our K1 media is on its way. Mary

K1 Media is a step in a multistage filtration scheme used for Deep Water Culture systems. They are also known as Kaldnes media and were developed used to culture nitrofiying bacteria in waste water treatment. They will not make your water crystal clear on their own. Used in combination with other types of filtration such as clarifiers, bird netting and Matala filters you can achieve very clear water that is high in nutrients.
