Hydroponic hydrotone

Just got rid of my hydroponic set up and finished putting together my aquaponics system... I was wondering if I could mix in my hydrotone from my hydroponics system with the gravel of my aquaponics system... Or is this a bad idea because of the chemicals the hydrotone was sitting in. Just currious if I should try to reuse it.

if you use the flushing chemicals on it first then rinse throughly with water. I don't think that there should be any problems

what are the "flushing chemicals"?  Never heard of this before...  but then again, i'm still kind of learning new things everyday.

I would just rinse them very well with water.  Perhaps leave them soak in clean water and then rinse them again when you go to start up your new system.
