I wondered if anyone could recommend a submersible heater for a 200 gallon tank.  Brand and model etc would be great.

Depending on the temp you're trying to maintain and the outside temp you could need 300 watt heater or up to 4 300 watt heaters. I eventually built a 1500 watt heater.

Thanks.  How does it work with the constant exchange of water back from the grow beds?  Does it ever cut off and if not does running constant seem to damage it?

Heaters all have or need to have some type of thermostat. It will automatically take care of that.
