Has anyone had experience in growing omnivorous (tilapia) fish-feed completely without needing to use commercial pellets? Assuming that space, temperature, and lighting was not an issue.
Many sources indicate that a balanced diet would probably be best, including BSF larva, worms, algae, etc. And tilapia probably eat a myriad of vegetable scraps too. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with being completely self-sufficient without considering the economic viability.
