Blowers are really loud what did you do to quiet them?

I am installing 2 Sweetwater blowers in Series and need to have 15' of metal pipe before they can go to plastic to ward off the heat.  I have them setup in my Utility room so I can gain the heat but the noise level is UN-real. I would like to put my office in the Utility room as well as be able to work in it for harvesting and starting plants but think these are way too loud.

#1 I was thinking that I could put them out in the greenhouse and be done with them but was not sure about the humidity.

#2 Build a wall and heavily insulate and sound proof the wall but what a lot of work to do just for these 2 motors.

#3 Build a sound proof box and vent the intake side to the outside air or greenhouse air. I would have to also add some kind of air to the motors so they do not overheat.

What are you doing so I can figure this out?

They are 2 S-41's so they are pretty big units.

#1Get them out of the house.
#2 The frequency is high, so deflecting/reducing the noise is not too hard.
#3 I have ours uncovered and outside, so humidity is not a big issue.  Not the best plan when is raining like a monsoon, but they have been working for over 6 years.

I would move them a reasonable distance (50ft) from where you have to talk and be for a considerable amount of time.  Then I  would cover with a three sided box.  Insulate the three sides, and point the open hole away from your area and towards the not so nice neighbor.

Try #3 and use car sound-deadener.  Put it on in a few layers and even around the area where the fan is.  maybe even egg-crate foam

Thanks,  I moved them out into my greenhouse and they are great out there.

Try building a 'sound-proof' box like this: http://soundproofing.org/infopages/generator.htm
