Good afternoon.
I have a huge algae problem in my raft grow beds (40 of them). I am in souht California very' very hot; my system is outdoors and with no covers. The sun exposed side of the rafts are covered with thick layer of algae, looks ugly, the gravel grow beds are fine. I don't want to switch to gravel, it is hard work. The fish and plants are doing fine. Any suggetions? :(

Pics? What are your rafts made from, and why are they wet enough to grow algae? A little algae around the edges of the rafts or at the waterline is usually not a big problem. Algae needs light, nutrients, water, and oxygen to grow. Eliminate any one of those and it will disappear
