A-Frame tray type NFT versus flat single level NFT system?

Im having some difficulty understanding the reason one would use an A-Frame system versus a flat single level system?

Can someone enlighten me please.

My take is that the A-Frame offers height variances for various leafy plant types and avoids too much cluttering but could have a single sided exposure to light once plants reach more mature sizes. This may be cleverly avoided by altering plant stages in the alternate rows planted?

The flat system may be difficult to reach re harvesting and does it offer less growing space?

Does it take up more goring surface than the A-frame?

Cannot recall ever reading a truly good reason for either.

Sorry i meant to type growing surface not goring surface ooops.

My thoughts are that the A frame utilizes vertical growth which allows more plants per sq ft.  Smaller plants i.e. strawberries, lettuce, etc. would probably be best in the A frame.

Thank you Jeff, I understand your response.

Once i gave it more thought it is apparent that provided one utilizes the height efficiently one will get more plants than a flat system but making a low a-frame kind of defeats the purpose unless vertical plants are part of the selected choice to grow.
