I've gone ahead and set the dates for Sat Dec 11 and Sun Dec 12 because I need to start making plans and no one has chimed in.
Workshop discussion
I haven't nailed down times yet either but figure we could have both weekend days from roughly 10 am till say 4 pm and you would not be required to attend both days. We will do a pot luck lunch and "discussion/class time" will be while we sit and digest our food after lunch.
I intend to have all the parts ready to go before the event.
Day one, will be placing the new grow beds, the importance of leveling the supports and then plumbing, supply, drain, gravel guards and stand pipes. I'm sure we will start washing some gravel on day one for those who can't attend both.
Day two, gravel washing and filling the beds. gravel washing is an important right of passage into DIY aquaponics and even the pros using the clay balls rinse the media before hooking up the system. This is your chance for initiation.
Please stop by the discussion and let me know if there is anything in particular you are interested in.
I will update this even page more as the details get nailed down. Maps and directions will come closer to the event.
Comment
I've started a discussion over in my group so we can post pictures and comments
Seeing as the event links seem to vanish after the event is over I don't want to post images or Q and A that we might want to look back on later here.
Had a great time, very informative and got plenty of good practical ideas. Very well managed setup. Great to meet other aquaponic people from this group as well.
You are very welcome and hopefully the others will post pictures here (since I didn't pull my camera out either) for everyone. I'll start a thread over in my group if people need a place to post them since the event will vanish from the board shortly I'm sure.
Thanks for a great workshop and for sharing your extensive knowledge and experience with us all. The system you have created is truly a benchmark system. I'm glad I got the chance to look into some of your other projects as well. Thank your husband and brother for putting up with all those extra questions. I'm looking forward to some of the pics from this event, especially since I forgot to bring my camera.
