AFTERNOON

Luncheon keynote - Susanne Friend of Friendly Aquaponics
Workshops all afternoon with three focuses: commercial, community and home/backyard
6:30 - Dinner - Murray Hallam keynote, Auction, have fun!
Post dinner Aquaponic Gardening Book release party

$200 for a second person from the same household
Fee includes food at Friday Meet and Greet, the Keynote Luncheon and Dinner on Saturday, hotel conference facilities, and some speaker expenses

I'm thrilled that you will be capping it off with us at the conference and we will certainly keep you in mind as a backup speaker. I actually have Muhammad Yunus's "Social Business" on my Kindle because it came highly recommended to me by Tom Knoll, who is speaking at the conference!

This will be the conclusion to a summer full of aquaponics for me - an internship converting an aquaculture farm to aquaponics and permaculture, and then several weeks in Ghana, where I'm involved in a micro-enterprise project growing, teaching, and spreading aquaponics in Accra. Community members will come to our pilot farm - currently under construction - to learn aquaponics and basic business skills, and we'll provide them the materials for a small farm, and a constant stream of supplies over time, and guaranteed markets for all the produce they want to sell. It'll be like Muhammad Yunus's "Social Business" model - enterprises that make enough profit to sustain themselves and provide incentive, but with the first priority being greater social good, like healthy, local, sustainable, aquaponically grown food! Win win win!

I'll be coming directly from that to this conference. So I wonder - do you still need a speaker for "Aquaponics as a Social Enterprise"? Because I'd be interested, and I'd have recent, relevant experience.

I would want to suggest that the registration form be altered to allow persons like myself who are coming from outside the US to be able to register. :) I would like to attend.
