My girlfriend basically wifey is quite sick of hearing about aquaponics, greenhouses or aquariums so anytime to meet with someone to talk about aquaculture is always fun.  Hit me up if you come around.  I am an active member of the New Hampshire Aquarium Society but and starting to put all my focus into family and aquaponics. Possibly leaving hobby aquaria alone for awhile.  This all started with three gold fish in a 10g tank.  I still have one of them and it now lives out side in the pond I built.  Thanks and your set up looks real nice.  If I have to settle for indoor growing for awhile I would like a set up like yours.  As you can see by my pics I am progressing.

jr my system is about 5 weeks old so it is still young. I have 1000 gal tank and 1250 gal of grow beds. The PH is about 7.6 to 7.8. Just curious if there were any way to soften water without importing it. I am on a well. Love your setup. Take care. Dave

Welcome JR,

Thanks for joining the Aquaponic Gardening community!  I hope you find it a fun place to explore aquaponics.  There is a real blend of experienced and new aquapons in this community, so please don’t hesitate to get in there and start asking questions.  Everyone is quite happy to help out new members – no question is too basic.

A great place to start is to read the “How to Use This Site” link on the upper right corner, “Start Here” section of the Main page.  You might also find the “Aquaponic Gardening Rules of Thumb” guidelines helpful.

Please participate and check in with us every day!  We are constantly posting news about aquaponics and the good food movement.

Thanks again for joining us, and I look forward to getting to know you.

Sylvia
