Hey Michal.  Saw you're looking to use 1/2 barrels for grow beds.  I travel US Hwy 19 alot.  Several odd places have them, (Feed stores, hunting, and archery shops).  Average price from Tallahassee to Inglis is about $18 a barrel.

Cheapest place I've found is in Perry, found him on Craigslist.

Has Blue & White food grade $12
Orange and black screw tops $14
The number listed was 850-223-2115
Hope that helps ya out!

I went by Urban Organic Jax

5325 Fairmont St.

Jax., FL. 32207

one block off Beach Blvd.   904-398-8012, the website isn't up yet.

www.n-g-w.com is their distributor. Look there and call Urban and he will order what you want and ship to you or you can pick it up. If you come to town and have kids-I have monkeys and am close by the store.

Michael,   What kind of grow beds are you interested in?

I'm testing out several ideas so if you are ever down in the Mount Dora Area let me know and I can show you some of the ideas I'm using.  I can also show you some of what I found that is not such a good idea.

Thanks for your comments, Michael!  With 100 goats I would say that without a doubt you are a "doer"!  LOL.  You sound like a very interesting guy and I'm looking forward to your participation in this community.

Lava rock and river rock both work as grow bed media.  Just make sure to check out the media carefully before you buy a whole truck load.

20 half barrels is probably only enough to filter for a very light stocking load of tilapia in only one of those fish tanks.
