Are you an aquaponic gardener already?: No

Please tell us something else about yourself.: I am trying to get a system going. My wife is a middle school science teacher and I have been in sales and I started and ran a non-profit organization for 5 years. I had health problems and had to stop. I am now in a wheelchair and I am working hard to find ways to garden that people with disabilities can work at. Aquaponics I am convinced is the answer. I am looking for hands on training that will get me started. I am a member of the Hanover County Master Gardener Association. We are starting a program at the Veterans Hospital here in Richmond. There are not anyone close to me with a system and it is frustrating, so I feel I need to get it going for this area and when it is set up and we have run it for a couple years we would like to start an education program for the Mid-Atlantic part of the country. If you can recommend the best places to get a great training program that will get the information to start.

You might also want to do some searches of the Member page (see tabs above) to see if you can find anyone near you. I'd also like to offer to help you out as I can, short of actually being physically present there (I'm in Colorado....otherwise I'd be there in a minute). My grandmother was in a wheelchair the entire time I knew her and I am very drawn to the benefits of aquaponic gardening for people with disabilities.
