Small aquaponic setup in my apartment growing lettuce, swiss chard and kale. Have been picking from the largest buttercrunch lettuce for some time. Not currently cycled, still waiting for nitrites to appear.

Thanks a lot. I actually have the drain pipe made with several small holes and it opens at the opposite end of the tank. I just thought that more air would be needed then the drain every few minutes. I also moved the heater so that the drain pipe empties closer to the heater. Thanks a lot it is always nice to know that my hard work is at least in the ball park of an efficient system considering my limitations and this being my first system.

not bad, not bad,  you could probably eliminate the airstone that you have in the tank by raising the bell siphon pipe return so that it creates an "air stone" effect by shooting the water back into the fish tank to create a turbulent and oxygenating effect.  You could even put the water heater at an angle under the return flow (at an angle so the water isnt pouring on the control knob)  so that the heating is more efficient/immediate.   Dont forget, the fish need light too!
