Hi Sarit, I have had the same problem, a lack of nutrients in the growing beds within the first 6 weeks. What I did, I added seaweed extract. Not hazardous for the fish but very good for the plants. Iron is another problem, pointed out by some very well knowned Aquaponic specialists. We have to add iron anyway. Because fish do not provide any iron in their feaces.

My system is no 10 weeks working and getting better from week to week. As I added from the very beginning some worms, I think they work well too.

It is a pitty that I cannot effort the time to go with you tomorrow. But we can do that probably later?

Cheers Werner

That's ok werner.

Soi Samakkee not far from me.

Tomorrow is my last holiday, I have go to work on 5 jan.

I found some problem in my system, nutrient lack.

I try to solve this problem by natural way.

I doing about earth worm too.

And I think fertilized of earth worm and some of fish fermicompost can reduce iron and magnesium lack.

Meanwhile my system just start 1 month, may benefit bacteria not much to effect to my system.

I wait for 2 month and may I expand my biofilter to increase biomass surface.

How about your system, it's going well?

Hi Sarit, thanks very much for your fast reply. Your plans are very interesting. You plan to install growbeds 1.2x30x0.3 meter. Can you buy these grow beds (plastic, fibre?) in Samutsakhorn also?

I know some shops there. Your prices are lower, but I am falang, obviously I have to pay more.

Have a nice day

Werner

Hi Werner

It's about 2,100 baht each.

At SAMUTSAKORN province, there have many size.

This size 800 litre, 1.5m width, 1.35m bottom, 0.8m height.

Next phase (if this phase is going well), I plan to use 6 of 3000 litre (I'll check price for u later)

and 6 of 1.2m x 30m x 0.3m growed-bed.

Thank for u interested.

SARIT

Hi Sarit, one question: how much did you pay for one of these water tanks? It would be interesting to compare the prices. Thank you.
