  Its taken almost a  whole year of all kinds of challenges , finally the 4000 sqft commercial  build is almost complete! Bang on the bank of the Ganges, anyone passing by Kolkata come take a look.

Hi friends,
I have made a pond to accommodate 90000 Ltrs, and the rest of activities are on. Ph is high, can't find any trace of ammonia, nitrite and nitrates. I am adding fermented cow urine to introduce ammonia. Hope it will take few days. Waiting...... Though I have no enough filter area I am planning to put angelfish to start with. Any suggestions ?

Hi All

We have been following AP since about 06 and last year, we finally started our system in Uran, near Mumbai. Its a CHOP2 design with constant volume of water in the fish tank. Total system size is 1500 lts and there are 3 media filled F&D grow beds.

We are currently growing bitter gourd, melons, egg plant, chilie, basil, garlic chives, strawberries and peppermint. Currently the bitter gourd and melons are giving fruit.

AP System Pics

We are using Tilapia and have about 60 fish, all at different sizes. The system is about 8 months old and flourishing now. This is purely a research system as it is our intentions to first successfully get produce through AP before thinking of the next steps.

Through our experiences we have realised that AP is not as easy as many say it is. It requires constant investigation and patients to learn how to streamline the system. We are still learning all the time and have got lots more to learn.

Current supplementation includes, chelated iron, calcium carbonate, potassium hydroxide and magnesium sulphate. 

Please feel free to ask questions and share advise. We are also happy to have people over to check out the system if interested.

Hello Everyone

I am putting up a pilot project for aquaponics in Gujarat.

Is anyone doing this already in Gujarat or am I the first ! Would like to talk and discuss some ideas on aquaponics before starting.

Also if anyone is doing aquaponics can u share details of reliable vendors please?
