Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hello all,

Instead of putting all my photos in my intro thread, I decided to create a build thread for those who wish to "Go Big or Go Home" hehehe.. I am going to photo document as much as possible and give clear details to what we are doing and why.  Since this is our first time, I am sure there will be mistakes and changes along the way.  As the process continues, if anyone here has any "Improvement Ideas" or a better way of doing something you see we are about to do, please, please speak up and share!

I will start adding photos, some of which have already been posted, but should be part of this thread..

Take care, have a great Holiday Season!

Thanks Ian! yes a self feeding pellet stove that holds 3 bags! WE plan on using the wood burner during the days and the pellet at night when we go to bed.  Both stoves will have a stainless steel tube around the chimney stack for circulating hot water to the fish, that way I can divert the flow to which ever stove is being used.  Under the radiant barrier foil is R13 fiberglass insulation. the building is 26ft x 36ft so it was a huge undertaking!

Hi Brent, is that a pellet stove you have as well? What is your inside wall covering?

That is a very nice build.

I used the Lowe's blue/green board on my first outdoor raft last season and it worked and held up just fine. Tough as nails. Plan to use it again. I used 1" thick panel.

Today me and 3 teenagers, yes you heard that right, teenagers (I know it's a miracle).. got the roof done on the greenhouse.

What material are you using on the roof?

Looking awesome.  Roof looks like Polycarbonate.  Is that right?

I just finished a book called Ball's Redbook that had some really great ideas for greenhouses.  Well written and extremely thorough.  You might enjoy paging through.

The entire greenhouse will be covered in 8mm twin wall Poly Carbonate.  85Mph wind rating and 40 lb snow rating.

Thanks for the reading tip Jeremiah..
