I love! He's beautiful :) Does he live as part of your aquaponics setup? I am working to make my red-eared slider part of one. Her name is Shelly II. My 4 year old named her after a sea-shell turtle one of our hermit crab ladies made us.

this is a Sulcata Tortoise, AKA, African Spur tortoise. they love to eat veggies and grass, but just like tilapia, they cant take cold weather below 55-60 degrees. very fun to own, they have more personality than you might think., ours would step on your foot as he passed by, kind of a hand shake.. but he always tried to "taste" my wife's painted toe nails. Thet live to about 120 years, so its a seriouse commitment... ours was about 40 lbs and 25" around when he escaped from our yard... sadness

Do you still have this turtle? If so how hard are they to take care of?
