Wow! You can do a lot with 16,000 square metres. My AP system is only 200 sq. metres. I can't really think of anyone in our area who designs systems for pay. I come from an engineering background and also have a degree in Industrial Design, so it never occurred to me to pay someone else to design or build my system. The raft portion is a modified Friendly's design (based on the UVI system), the 8 media beds are just standard IBC's...timed flood and drain via indexing valve...nothing too fancy.

Be careful if purchasing designs/plans from the united states as it can be a headache to find comparable and or compatible parts and pieces in the E.U.

What is it that you plan on growing in the AP?

Dear Vlad

Thank you

I do understand what you have said about to apply as a fish farm and label it plant growing sub-systems as non-descript 'filtration equipment' WILL NOT work my husband did ask.

New skylight will be going in the building. I have looked at the system 312.ap with indoor lighting to happy to use this too.

seem Will Allen system to Next to are building are 100 cows

we have 16,000 sqm of land outside the building. this will be are first fram in Bulgaria we all ready have a bigger one planed.

I would like to grow inside the building and out side this building

All the can be grown can be sold.

This maket here is different to many places in the world this is the poorest country in the EU with the highest home ownership in the EU.

Wages are very low for people that live in the village from 200 too 350 us $ per month

If you go out for a meal in Bulgaria in VARNA it will still cost you 10 $ per person Bar Night Club are all busy here childern play area all Busy Here the only things close are cloths shop Because to many mall opened to much commercal floor space

food is cheaper here still cost money I would not go in to this if i could not take a good income from this once working

People with money want the best and will pay for it

Still what i am looking for is a good commercal design system to go in the the first building and to go out side the building to.

So if you know any one i would like to hear form them

Thank you

Milana

And Milana...don't call me 'Sir'...it kinda creeps me out

Comment by Vlad Jovanovic on October 27, 2012 at 6:40am

Why don't you apply as a fish farm and label your plant growing sub-systems as non-descript 'filtration equipment'? Seriously.

TC is right, you'll need a design specific to your particular area. Did you say you will be growing inside of a building? Lighting/electricity costs are going to be quite high...or have you guys taken care of that with skylights etc...?

Commercial system design, I don't think I would be looking for an off the shelf cookie cutter type of design since any numbers for growth or sales from such a system would really only be accurate for one specific crop in one specific climate in one specific market.

That said, Contact Green Acres or Friendly Aquaponics because I believe they both sell plans.

? Or, do you already have plans and are looking for a Project Manager/contractor to build?

Comment by Vlad Jovanovic on October 27, 2012 at 5:54am

Zdraveite Milna,

What is it exactly that you are looking for? Planning and building a decent "commercial" sized AP system will probably be the "easy" part. Making it viable in your climate (winters) will the the most challenging and expensive part of such an operation (potentially). Are you looking for plans as a part of obtaining the E.U grant money? Or, do you already have plans and are looking for a Project Manager/contractor to build?

I have a small system at home( currently without a fish tank). but I am looking for a blue print or a system for commercial size system that can be build? I have a acre in carmichael, california. Any Advice?

Comment by TCLynx on October 19, 2012 at 8:09am

Derrik, I recommend starting a thread in the discussions about it.  You can post info about the space you have and materials you can find and get help.  In a small system (that you could load in a car, especially if you expect to be able to have the car moved once loaded) you are not going to raise very many edible size fish so it might perhaps be better to stick with one variety to start.

Derrick, I have an idea that might work out well for you, I sent a friend request, get a t me.

Hello everyone, I am looking to start a small AP system at home and I am looking for some advice on how big to start. I am in the military, stationed in Everett, WA, and sometimes need to move around so I unfortunately can't have a full size system. Plus, like I said I'm in the military so money is tight. I am thinking that a used system would be more affordable then buying new, it is just a matter of finding a used system. I would like to have an assortment of fish in the tank, I am not sure if that is even possible but I like a variety and if it is not possible I will understand.  I think that I am looking for something that would fit into my single car garage. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I am in the market for free tilipia, will trade trout or smoked trout.  Let me know.  I am in Winchester Va area.  I also make damn fine smoked trout.

Terri, it is unrealistic to assume or advertise 3,000 gph unless you know the height in which people are going to lift water.  I saw that you covered your bases by saying its unconfirmed, but to the uneducated, they might not know that if they try to lift it even a foot, they will only be getting a tiny fraction of that.

Randy, start your own thread in the discussion form for help on your personal system since this isn't the place to discuss building systems, this is basically the classifieds section of the site.
