Things are growing fast. I have cheap goldfish in the sump tank to jump start the process. Nitrites and nitrates starting to climb. Pretty excited.

WOW ! looking good John. I have a 650 gallon grow out tank now. I have tore down my beds and Looking to build new floating raft systems. they will look like bunk bed frames. I have started to try and breed my fish and I am hoping for the best.
I don't think I will be doing many more media beds. I will switch to rafts. I think I will need media for heavy things like corn. I will use hydroton for my towers (currnetly under construction) My ammonia never read very high. I used the "Microbe Lift Nitrifying Bacteria" product. Maybe that's why my ammonia never went high. Today my PH dropped to 6.6 (from 7.4 two days ago). That big change has me concerned. Nitrates are 2.0 and nitrites are 20.
Might try to add tilapia next week if the pH stabilizes and I don't have any increase in ammonia.
All of mine are in rafts right now. At first things were not growing worth a darn but now that the water has balanced out, i.e, the ammonia down to almost zero, nitrites at about 0.5 ppm and the nitrates are at 10 ppm and climbing! Five days ago the ammonia and nitrites both very high.
Started from plants from a local greenhouse. They were practically giving them away. I also have a lot of stuff starting in dirt that I will transplant. Planning some floating rafts this weekend. I will try to start from seed in those. I have a little more reading to do first.
Did you start from seed? Plants look great!!
