Using Compost for Supplemental Heating

I see a need for inexpensive water heating since everywhere in the States seems to be getting cold. Then I ran across this article. I don't know if it has been visited here before.

heating water in winter is a problem and yes you can use compost

this was my first water heating with compost

then i build this compost heater

did it work.....i believe it will but when i tried it i never had time to keep full and and fresh
