Let us all remember... air pumps are not cheap neither is electricity or fish food especially for young fish and SW only feeds them the best!!! Even though he is "Giving them away" and they are free...there is overhead!!!! Be generous!!! Sharing is GOOD!!!

~~Welcome to all new members!~~

I want to thank all of you that have "Paid It Forward" with the fingerlings you received from myself or from another member!  I love the community of sharing this group is developing!

So, how many of you have new systems going in this spring? Bigger systems? I'm hoping everyone does and that makes me wonder just how many in the group will be wanting fingerlings? I am a few weeks away still from starting any breeding colonies but I am in the planning stages. If you want some fingerlings please send me a message with the amount you want so I can get an idea of what's needed. Even if you are not in the Central Florida area maybe there'll be someone in your area with fish.

If you are in not in the Central Florida area and are breeding fish for yourself I encourage you to offer free fingerlings in your area to those that are in need.  The people you will meet will far outweigh anything you give. Just click on the "Add a Discussion" link above the Comment Wall if your willing.

Thanks Larry! I will take you up on the offer. How about this Sunday? I will grab a tote from Lowes and a lil air pump from petsmart. That should keep them alive. What is the PH level they are use to? Would like to match it for them if I can. Keep em happy.

One other thing I need to get is fish food. Do you feed them anything I need to special order?

Thanks again Larry!!!

Hey Steve,

SW gave me 40 fingerlings a couple months ago which I split into 3 groups, since I only need a few for this years spawning I can let one group go. I will need a heads up so I can drain their tank. I've only lost 2 of the 96 I got last summer so if the weather weather doesn't get any colder than what we had last month I should be in good shape. I think if you get a 20 to 40 gallon tote from the Dollar General and a minnow pump they will move just fine.

I'm sure I missed out on all the extra fingerlings. Anyone have any recommendations on where to purchace some pure blue tilapias? I really need some fish poo. Lol. Germination is going real good. Got 10 out of 12 seeds that have sprouted . I'm in Orlando . West side

Hello everyone,

Did not realize this group is so close together. Casselberry, Dr Phillips.  I am in Orlando and just starting out in the aquaponics. I cant believe people are actually donating fingerlings! Pure breed at that. I would love to be apart of this. I bought the 100 pack of seeds from here http://getseeds.net

I am ready for some fingerlings to get my system going... I am learning the germination process right now. I would like to have a second 275 gallon tank to breed or a grow out tank. If anyone is willing to get me into this, show me the ropes. I will gladly donate some of my own fingerlings to get people involved with aquaponics.

fyi I did a IBC tote.  All in all I think it turned out nice. Two grow beds, one with pea stones, one with gravel, and a raft dwc.  Just need some fish. I even have two worm bins going. Already had my first harvest.

Yep Im addicted.

Thanks for listening,

Steve....
