Hi, Yes, it will slow your rate a little.

A bell has a 'flow range' to it....the water comming in has to be 'fast enough' to get it to start. Yet, the water comming in has to be 'slow enough' so that it breaks/stops .

You probably don't need to slow it by very much. I'd give it a try 1st.

I ended up going to a bigger breather tube on mine...it stopped the siphon quicker.

I'm not sure what kind of a bell siphon  'Meg' was using...?

Hi Isaiah, I saw your question this morning, in the chat window....last night you asked about getting your bell to stop.

Most times, the water coimming in is 'too fast'...for the bell to break it's siphon.

Hope this helps...

Take care,

David Hart

It depends, most of the stuff yes, but I've used 3" for Taro (experimental) and tomato. I've also used 6" for Taro it depends on what you're planting.

i use a gravel and granite mix in the media beds. i like to use 70% pink granite(3/8 to 1/2") and 30% texas pea gravel. this has proven to be the best mix to keep the PH in the 6.8 - 7.0 range.

in the net pots and seed beds i use expanded shale.

Isaiah you can check the thread with the discussion on foam. I'm using a styrofoam which is available in Trinidad.
