I now have a local Bastrop rock supplier willing to buy up to a 36 yard truckload. The size is 3/8" to 1/2" sifted @ 125.00/yard. This would mean that you have no waste and no need to sift it yourself.  He is holding the order until I give the word that we have interested parties in the area @ this price.

Delivery would be Hwy 71 East of Austin, Texas near Bastrop, TX. The price is $125.00 FOB

Probably depends on what state your in.  Having fingerlings shipped from OZ would probably be pretty costly.

Are Jade Perch from Australia illegal, or are they just scarce?

I have been seeking to buy some in the US, but have yet to find any?

Anyone have a clue?

BLUE TILAPIA: I have about 20 blue tilapia in north Florida. 3 to 4 inches. About 4 months old. Also some gold comets and koi. I have too many fish and need to sell these fast! Make an offer. Thanks. mcclellanrobert ( at) mac (dot) com

ok, thank you for the advice! I'll do it.

Alessandra, that is a complex question.  Perhaps you should start a discussion thread to ask it in since this is for the Buy/sell marketplace.

I hope I'll be able. In effect, I'd like to introduce a new "way of life" later, showing it's possible.

:)

Just as start, could you tell me, after your experience, what kind of system (dimension of tanks, water quantity, beds grow, number of plants and fishes) I should have for satisfying a family (3 or 4 persons maximum) for a whole year?

In addiction, what do you think about vertical beds grow, as that ones used in Hidroponic? Is it possible? ... cause it would be a good solutions for little spaces.

Great advice TCLynx.

See Alessandra, no need for expensive freight etc...you can source all your needs locally. Once you learn, perhaps you can become a "local" Aquaponics source for others and help spread this wonderful knowledge and way of life.

Ciao

yea, if you can find a place re-selling food safe IBC containers, you should be able to find plumbing parts locally and probably pumps and most anything else you need.

Well, I haven't found any sellers here in Italy.About acquaponic in Italy, I've just found the Centro Studi per l'Acquaponica/AcquaGuide who organize (online) lessons too, but to expensive in my opinion.I'll see about this guide you talk about. (I've already known the Backyard's). Do you really think I can find everything I need to build my system from locally available materials? Is it so easy?!

"Basic": I mean a little family acquaponic system, about 1000 lt (for the fish tank) and two or three tanks (medium dimention) for the plants. And everything else you need to let the system works: pomps, tubes, filters, ect.

I can suggest getting the Barrel Ponics Manual and/or the IBC of Aquaponics they are both free pdf manuals with great information on building your own system from locally available materials.

Namaste Alessandra,

Not really sure what you mean "I'm looking for a basic acquaponic kit in Italy? Is there any seller you know?"

Just exactly "How Basic"?

One of the aims and goals of Aquaponics is to try to work with locally available materials. If you give us an idea of what you are trying to build (your definition of "Basic"), I am sure that you would get many great suggestions and most probably find all that you need at your backdoor, no need to pay freight  :-)

Don't know how reputable this one is as they were tagged originally for using other people's images to sell their products without permission but hopefully they have taken down most of those by now.

Perfect! I've just sent them an email. I hope they'll answer me soon. I'll wait, but in the meantime I'll look elsewhere. Let me know if you find the name of the other company.

Here is a link to where you might find more info.

I didn't find the FishPlant there but they have some other systems I think

Yes, thank you! I'd like to know it.... Obviously, I'd prefer an italian seller, but an european it's ok, too (specially if it's from UK, France or Spain).

I don't know of any European suppliers though Charlie Price did mention a hydroponic company that has put the FishPlant together hum, wonder if I can find the web site?
