I keep running into little bits of information here and there that say T5's actually put out a few more lumens than a T8 or T12 in a smaller size....Is that true, or are they truly the same?

lumens and full spectrum aren't as important as PAR readings in the specific growth spectrum.

That's why I use the growleds.co strips in my growroom.  plus, longer life, no pollution from mercury, and in my testing, the plants show that they thrive better, for example, the basil doesn't strain to get more light, it just sits fat and sassy, spreading out rather than bolting up.  No fans and complications in these strips either.  Otherwise, they are similar in length and width to a T-5, just way more light, way better light and no additional fixture required.
