Vacuum Seeder Demo - When we built our vacuum seeder a couple years ago, we were still mixing our own media and filling propagation trays as seen in this video. We also used a hand 'dimpler' at that time.
The vacuum seeder reduced labor time of hand seeding from 5 hours per ten trays to 3 hours per 10 trays. It was a considerable time savings however , we have since transitioned to pre formed plugs and by eliminating the media mixing, filling and dimple time, reduced seeding labor to less than an hour per ten trays.
