An anaerobic zone is when you get an area in the grow bed where there is no oxygen getting to it, either from fish waste or to much plant roots, and anaerobic bacteria start growing.

Did you float the lettuce right on your pond?

What is "anarobic zones?" I tried a raft system directly over my fish pond but lettuce did not do well. Can this be done, or does a raft system need to be in a separate area?? thanks in advance.
