My system is over a year old and doing very well. I was able to grow nearly all of the vegetables I needed this summer.
My system was designed in two parts as follows:
The FT's, sump and two media beds are in the basement and form the permanent system. The second part of my system consists of six 5' towers, several NFT channels and DWC totes in the backyard.
As the outside temperature is dropping, I will soon be dismantling and stowing the section from the backyard.
I had purchased 25 tilapia fingerlings last September (I actually received 45 about 0.75” and all survived). 30 are now plate size and will be harvested during the next few days. The rest are about six inches.
Several of the females carried eggs from time to time over the summer but I did not take any action. All I have to show for that is two fingerlings that I discovered living in the sump.
